Alps Pointing Device - Double click

Martin Hart

Hi:

I have upgraded my portable to the Vista (MSDN) RTM version and all has
gone well, but I would like to know how I can edit the properties of the
'double click' of the touchpad. The actual device is the Alps Pointing
Device.

There is no control panel tab sheet to remove this capability (AFAICS).
I intensely dislike the double tap on the touchpad to simulate a double
click and wish to remove it!

The driver previously installed (under Win XP) was the Alps Pointing
Device driver.

TIA,

Martin.

You should be able to reinstall the XP drivers to make it work. If you have
a Dell laptop they now have proper Vista 32 bit (x86) drivers available. No
x64 yet.

If you use the XP drivers there is a pop up that states that the program is
not compatible. Just select "run anyway" and it should be fine. I have done
this on 3 different Dell machines without issues.
