Allowing limited user access to Quicken

D

Don Burnette

Hi,

I am running XP Pro, with all updates.

I have added my daughter as a separate user, as a limited user. Her account
can access most of the programs, however Quicken 2004 deluxe it will not.
Click on the program, and it appears to start then closes rapidly.
I have compared other programs properties that do work with Quicken, but I
see nothing that sticks out as to why it would do this.

What am I missing?

If anyone can help, would appreciate it !!

I am having this exact same problem, does anyone have a solution -
HELP!

It's because Quicken needs to write to part of the operating system that
is forbidden to a limited user. You can either set Quicken up with the
runas command for her and have it run as Administrator or find out what
files/folders Quicken needs to write to and change permissions there.
If you want to try the latter, go to Intuit's tech support site and see
if this is a known issue and if they have outlined the workaround or
have patches.
