Quicken for users with limited rights

Hi,

I installed Quicken 2003 Basic under a User Account with
Administrative right. I want to run it as a user with
limited rights. But it won't start up when I try to do
so. Am I stuck with running it only as Administrator?
This may be the way it's supposed to work, but it seems
to go against the principle of using Administrator only
sparingly.

Thanks,

Bob

While in the limited account, right click the Quicken shortcut and select
'run as' and pick the user that installed it. I think that'll work for you.

Here's something else you might want to try. When you install Quicken, it
prompts you whether you want to allow all users access or only the current
user. You could reinstall it and allow all user access. Maybe that will
serve your purpose better.

I contacted Quicken about this problem (I was trying to use the business
version) and they were very unhelpful. They said there was no workaround.

I obtained a refund as being "unfit for purpose" and am now using Microsoft
Money 2002 (the 2003 version did not provide the business functions I needed
in the UK).

I was most upset about this as I have used Quicken 2 in the past and liked
it. Money does seem to work however.
