The ACF program info pages list many programs (3800+ ATM) See:

http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/acf/P_ProgramIndex.php

Of necessity the web pages furnish *limited* information. The program info pages now have links to a
wiki page for each app - anyone in the newsgroup can add notes about the program to supplement the
information on the PWH site. You'll need the wiki's password to edit the wiki - it can be found at
the bottom of the daily ACF info post. Please have at it. . . ;)

The ACF program info pages do not answer many "All Too Frequently asked questions" (ATFAQs). ISTM
that the wiki is an ideal place to store the answers to some of those questions. For openers I've
added a page to the wiki named "ViewConvert" for these ATFAQS: What program can open XXX files or a
..ZZZ file format? What program can convert XXX files to YYY files? See:

http://acfwiki.pbwiki.com/index.php?wiki=ViewConvert

That page lists the questions. The wiki has a search box that can be used to find the answers.
Please take a look, try the search, add more info and offer comments and suggestions for improvement.

Suggestion for other ATFAQs that could be answered in the wiki? Other comments and suggestions?

Tried, but no time to RTFM...later..

Oops, forgot to mention the gottcha (programming glitch). . . log in by clicking edit on any
*existing* wiki page - that brings up the password dialog. Log in with the wiki password *BEFORE*
you click on a "comment" link to create a new wiki page - else you'll be caught in an endless loop.
.. . :(

More detailed instructions:

For first time users of the wiki.
Go here first.
http://acfwiki.pbwiki.com/index.php?wiki=LoginPage

Click "Edit" in the upper right hand corner.
Login using your email and user name.
The password is on the third to last line of the "alt.comp.freeware
information" post made by Susan Bugher, daily. Simply copy that
password and paste into the password field. Make sure you do not add
the trailing space.

You should now be at the edit page.

You are at a login page. Nothing much to edit here. Click Cancel or
Update.

Now go to the page you wish to edit. Shazam it works.

Brilliant! Thank you John. :) I've added that link to the notes at the bottom of each ACF program
info page to make it easier to login to the wiki from there.

<q>
Notes Column: Notes are created and edited by ACF newsgroup participants in the ACF wiki. Login to
the wiki before using the links to creat or edit a page. Login
(http://acfwiki.pbwiki.com/index.php?wiki=LoginPage)
</q>

I'd added some info to the wiki about creating/editing pages - I moved that to the login page.
