All new CD loaded games error out after installation and won't sta

I can install games, but when attempting to open and use them, I get an Error
Code "D3DXERR_INVALIDDATA". When I exit out of this error, I get another
entitled ***NEBULA ASSERTION***. I was informed that a MSN Update some
months ago may have caused this problem and I need to get it fixed... I went
on the Update site and downloaded all missed updates, but it still doesn't
work. This all began about 1 year ago. Any idea how to get this fixed?

Have you contacted the manufacturers of each problematic game for
assistance with their products? This isn't likely to be a Windows issue.
