all my browsers are broken (but ping and Skype work!?)

Hi,

I have a problem with Windows XP sp2 - I can't view any web page in any
browser but my network link is ok.
I have tried running IE, Firefox and Opera - all fail to connect to any
URL with site not found errors. The odd thing is ping works ok, Skype
works ok so there is nothing wrong with my internet link over wireless
ADSL. Even weirder - other accounts on the same PC work fine.

There is something common across all browsers that is broken under my
account. I've run Ad-aware but it finds nothing. I'm not using any
proxy servers or such like.

Any idea where to start fixing this problem?

Go to Start>Run and type "netsh winsock reset" without the quotes. Then
restart. Or do a google search for "XP winsock reset" and download and run
the XP Winsock Resetting tool. See if that helps.

Good stuff. It worked first time just with the command. No need to
download the extra tools.
