AHHHHH! HELP!

so i just bought midnight club 2 and i installed it and
went to run it and everything was going good.. movies
played smooth, was able to change options etc. but when i
click to change my car it just exits to the desktop. and
when i hit enter to start a race or career mode it goes
to the next screen for a minute and then it exits to the
desktop. so i tried reinstalling the game and same thing.
i tried updating my video card. same thing. i downloaded
direct x 9 same thing! whats wrong?? why does it do
this?? is there more stuff i need to download? really
wanna play this game but gettin mad that i cant! help me
please!
