After using windows update IE6 can't open websites...

Hi all,

I have a problem with internet explorer 6 which using on windows XP Pro
edition. The problem is very interesting beause there is two different
action on the same computer (IBM Thinkpad). So here is the problem.

For connecting internet my thinkpad uses my company's wireless network
connection (Other users can access internet normally with the same
settings). For a while i installed "hotbar" program on my computer and
everytihng works normally. but after 1 or 2 week later i can't open web
sites with using IE6. so i called my company's computer technician for this
problem. after he exams, he noticed that he can open websites into "my
computers" address section and also any "folders" address section. but at
the same time "hotbar" program integrated with "windows explorer" and seen
any "folder" and "my computer" toolbar sections. then he uninstalled
"hotbar" program on my thinkpad. so the problem is solved. after uninstall i
can access web pages using IE6.

But a few days ago, when i opened my computer windows media player asks me
to update media player, so i did it. but after updating windows media player
the same problem occurs again. i cannot access web pages with using IE6 but
i can access web pages with using "my computers and any folders" address
section.

so anybody have an idea for this problem. I have no idea about this problem
because its so and so interesting.
