After Upgrade to Win2k Pro Laserjet 1012 Will not Install

After i Upgraded 8 Working Computers From Win98SE to WIn2k
Pro, Non of the Computers Would Install The Laserjet 1012
Printer. When i try to install it, It Crashes The spooler
With spoolsrv.exe generated errors and stops spooler. then
i either have to restart spooler service or reboot
computer, but then the printer doesn't show. On a clean 2k
install the printer runs fine. HP Says it is a microsoft
issue and will not help. I need Help>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Are you running with Service Pack 4 for Win2k?

Did you disconnect the printers BEFORE upgrading the operating system? If
not, you'll need a completely uninstall and reinstall of the printer as per
http://www.coribright.com/windows/Article One.htm

(Although written for XP, the procedure is the same for 2000)
