After an aborted install . . .

After an aborted install of 2003 Server over XP Pro the boot-up screen
persists in asking if I want to install the new OS or boot with XP pro. How
can I prevent this?

As far as I know(and can find info about on the ms website), you cannot do
an upgrade install from a non-server windows version to a server version.
You must do a clean install.

The install was aborted because of the need to do a clean install. But now
the boot screen continues to ask which I want. I found a reference to the
boot up option in msconfig. Should I delete the reference there to 2003
server?

Yes.(uncheck it first and reboot, if it works fine, go into registry and
delete the startup key for win2k3 server).

If in MSConfig - Boot.ini page you use 'Check All Paths' it ought to
identify the 2003 one as invalid and allow its deletion. If not, edit
manually - at
Control Panel - System - Advanced - click Settings in StartUp and Error
recovery,a nd the Edit button there
