After a few hours of use, my monitor goes black while the PC stays

My computer works great until it has run for a few hours in a row. Then,
without any notice, the screen goes black and I cannot get it back. I have to
shut down the computer by pressing the power button on the PC for several
seconds. When I restart the computer, it starts back up as if nothing
happened. This is an inconvenience - especially if I am working on a big
project. The computer usually recovers some of what I did, but not all. A
computer tech said my problem was dust blocking the vents and cleaned the
computer inside. This did not solve the problem. I have XP Professional and
an ASUS motherboard PAP800-VM.

That's either the power supply, motherboard, or graphics card acting
up.. maybe failing. I would try a different graphics card since the
only symptom is the video. Heck, try a different monitor too. Maybe
turning off the computer resets the monitor.

I don't think it would be the power supply - the PC stays on. It is the
monitor that goes black.
