Advice about editing register

I received this advice from a Kaspersky forum:

You must install KAV before Comodo... Or you can do this..

open regedit and navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
\COMODO Firewall Pro
export the full key then delete it. afterwards you should be able to
install Kaspersky.
after the installation just reimport the key.

I would like to do the edit he suggests. I've found the register key using
regedit, and see how I could export it. But I'm uncertain how to import it
again after I've deleted it. I'm reluctant to experiment, so could someone
tell me what's involved in the reimporting of the key?

Export it as a .reg file somewhere you'll remember you saved it.
Delete the registry key.
When done with whatever, double click on the .reg file to import it.

That said, I have no idea if this is necessary or advisable for the issue
you're experiencing.

Jack,

As TaurArian stated, editing the registry is dangerous for the
inexperienced. I suggest you find the key you need to modify, export the key
to the Desktop as a .reg file storing the key's current value. Modify the
key as described. If it doesn't work you simply double-click the .reg file
you saved on the Desktop and the registry key and value will be written to
the registry (importing). This will restore the key to it's former value.
