adprep

We are adding a Windows 2003 domain controller to a Windows 2000 domain. We
currently have (2) Windows 2000 domain controllers - one of them holds all
the FSMO roles. If all the Windows 2000 domain controllers and member
servers have SP4 installed on them, are there any other hotfixes that need to
be installed in order to run adprep, or domainprep? Also, the new Windows
2003 DC will be installed on a different subnet than the other two current
DCs. Does a subnet need to be added in AD Sites and Services to accomodate
this installation? thanks

Any time you add a new sub-net to your AD LAN you should add the sub-net to
the proper site. So yes add it and if this is in a location that should be
defined as a new site set that up as well.

Follow Danilo's link on the upgrade.
