Adobe Reader 6 Installation Error 1500

Tom

I am trying to install Adobe reader 6. The first
installation failed. There is no trace of it on my
system.

I tried to istall it again and I get a message that
says "Error 1500" to the effect that another installation
is occurring and I must finish that before I proceed.

There is no other installation occuring - at least that I
can find. I can't get Adobe installed-which is a major
problem. Adobe says it is a Windows problem.

Can anyone help.

Hi!
My solution to that problem was to leave it alone and use Adobe Reader 5
until I happen across a solution someday I don't use it that much so it just
didn't seem worth the trouble.

I really think this a problem with Adobe, despite what they say. They
just wanted to get rid of your question.

The install and the product works fine for me.

Suggest your re boot and turn off all other programs, including virus
protection. Then install it and be careful not to inadvertently get two
install copies going simultaneously (this might be the problem?). Then
after install, restart virus protection (and any services you may have
shut down).

You might want to run System Restore back to a time before the initial
install attempt. I use Adobe 6 on three systems. All installs went without a
hitch. If you have Adobe 5 loaded, be sure to uninstall that first.

Tom: According to 'Woody's Watch', you MUST remove any older Adobe
Readers first ! Adobe doesn't tell you that for Adobe 6, but most people
who have have trouble installing it have found this to be the
problem.....Good luck, Dingo
