Adobe Acrobat error when opening Excel

I have a client that is getting the error "MS excel has detected a version of
abobe that is known to cause errors" She is prompted to either (1) Help, (2)
Continue or(3) cancel. She gets this message whether opening Word or Excel.
She is running version 5.0 of Adobe Standard
