Admin to User Profile.

I have XP Professional. When I did the install I left it
as the Administrator and that is how I log in. I am the
the only user of this PC. I would like to set up an acct
with my own name so that Admin is not identified in the
sign in. Is there a process to migrate my Admin folder
to get the same desktop as the Administrator. I tried to
create a new acct, and set is as the only acct that was
the Admin. When I tried to copy the Admin files to my
profile, it just did not work. Is there a way to do
this, so a user acct can migrate the Admin settings to my
own profile? If a private respone is written, pleae
repond to my address of (e-mail address removed).

Hi Joe,

I believe you can accomplish what you need by renaming the default
Administrator account to your desired name. If you want to try this here
are the steps:

1. Log on as a user with administrator permissions.

2. Right-click My Computer, and then click Manage.

3. In the left pane, expand the "Local Users and Groups" node, and then
click Users.

4. In the right pane, right-click the Administrator account
name and choose Rename.

5. Type in the desired name and then press enter.

6. Quit the Computer Management console. The new setting take effect
the next time you attempt to log on to this computer.

The second method won't work in XP except for accounts
other than Administrator. XP turns off the copyto option
when you click on Administrator.
