Address Book Sorting

Despite the fact that I imported my address book and none
of my distribution lists transferred, I am also having
difficulty sorting my entries. In the past if I wanted
to change the sort, I would simply click on the column
and it would organize that way, is that option not
available in outlook 2003?

Try Converting your Personal Address Book to a Contacts
folder
1. On the File menu, click Import and Export.
2. In the Choose an action to perform list, click Import
from another program or file, and then click Next.
3. In the Select file type to import from list, click
Personal Address Book, and then click Next.
4. In the Select destination folder list, click Contacts,
and then click Next.
5. Follow the rest of the steps in the wizard.
You should be able to Right-Click in the Contact view and
sort your contact by whatever field you wish.

Thank you for your response....unfortunately, I already
have an intern working on my contacts and I have added
contacts since the last time, so I am afraid to export
and then import for fear of losing work already done.
Would you suggest first exporting what I already have
into a .pst? Or what file should I export it to and then
import? Thank you for your help!

It is highly unlikely you were ever even using a PAB, so the above post does
not apply.
What you need to do is change the sort order for the Outlook Address Book.
Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book > Change. > Set your sort order there
