According to Symantec/Norton, I should have an address bar in "My Computer".
I don't. When I try to activate it (View->Toolbars (or whatever)), nothing
happens. Should it?

Hey Jess, it should actually be there, if your toolbar is locked,
then all you probably see is the the word "address" in the top left
hand corner of your my computer "window". Click on 'view , toolbars
uncheck the "lock toolbars'. YOu should see a vertical bar next to the
word 'address" , you can drag this with your mouse under your toolbar
icons or just expand it to the left.
Hope this helps.

Thank you. It actually worked. I'm gob-smacked. (Only about a dozen other
problems to go now! But that's another post - well, probably several posts.)

Cheers
