Additional XP License for OEM?

Does an OEM version of Windows XP qualify for the purchase of an
additional license?

Also, I have seen additional licenses for sale at various places on
the net for very low cost. Does anyone have any experience with
purchase of such licenses and are they as advertised and legal?

Regards, jimbo

Go here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/howtobuy/addlic.asp

You can see if you qualify about halfway down the page...

As far as the "deals" on the Internet.. If it sounds too good to be true,
it usually is.

An OEM doesn't qualify for the purchase of an additional license from
Microsoft, but as far as from from the company that put out the OEM that's
up to them.
Additional licenses on the net? I wouldn't recommend it.
You have no way of knowing if it is a new key or a used one until it's too
late.

No it doesn't. It has been discounted for installation to a single
machine only and carries no rights beyond that.

Regard them with great suspicion. Especially if they refer to 'backup'
or 'OEM' or appear to come 'by international mail', from Eastern Europe
or elsewhere. There are a lot of scams, and if you should receive
anything at all it will probably not have a legitimate Product key for
installation
