Additional Language

R

Raggy

Hi,

my current problem is that the current image only supports English
language options. i would like to install other languages, but i am
not able too.

i am just wondering if there is a way to install/add extra languages
to a build which is already running on a PC?

i can only see the option recreating the image from scratch to include
support for the extra language.

any help would be greatful.

regards

Did you install the MUI packs into the database?

unfortunately i didnt create the image myself, but looking back at it
through Target Designer, only English Language support was included.

hence, why i can only think of creating a brand new image from scratch
with MUI included.

The images that I have built that support Swedish includes the Swedish MUI
Resource and Sweditch Shell MUI components. Do you have these components in
your configuration or database?

The Regional and Language Options component has the settings to set the
specific lanuage on startup. You need to set these to Swedish.

You will have to re-create the image with the correct MUI components in
place.

As usual, my fault... didn't understand good enough.

Using the Web Install downloaded Swedish MUI SP2 ok, but SP1 just keeps
erroring. Is there any other way to dl that package?

I htought all the MUIs where installed with packages. I don't have it
installed at the moment, but look in Component Database Manager package tab,
and delete the MUI package. Otherwise you will have to delete the individual
components.

In XPE one has to download selected MUI packages, using XPEFFI.exe. There I
get 'Qued' 'Connecting' 'Error' for Swedish MUI package SP1 wich has to be
installed first.

I downloaded WES2009, and in there are all UI languages selectable. But what
a dissapointment regarding speed :( , it's about 10 times slower than XPE.

I had suspected as much, thanks for confirming.
