Use the start up disc that you can create. add the

format.com program to it and then restart with the disk
in anf type at the a:\ prompt format d: and then follow

Right click "my computer" and choose "manage" click on disk management then
right click the drive in question and format. If you don't have a "My
Computer" icon on the desktop open administrative tools in control panel and
choose computer management from there.
