Hard disk upgrade

I have two hard drives:
1-st 20GB three 6.36GB partitions, drive letters C: E: F:
2-nd 6.0 GB drive letter D:
I have two systems: Windows 98SE on C:
and Windows XP Professional on E:
I'm going to upgrade second hard drive replacing 6.0 GB D: by a new big one.
What happen with drive letters if I partite the second new drive into
several partitions.
Does it change actual letters of partitions of first drive?
I'm expecting to get:
1-st drive: C: E: F: (no change)
2-nd drive: D: G: H: ....
Am I right? what happen if I'm not right and actual partition E: change his
letter; will XP start? I'm afraid not.
Please advice.

.
when you partition you have the option to assign
whatever letter you want, no problem
