replacing m hard drives

Hello everyone, I presently have three hard drives in my computer. I have the
"C" (40gig), I have the "E" (150 gig) and the "F and G" (partitioned 240
gig). I want to buy a 500 gig drive which I want to partition into "E,F,G". I
have been told that I can partition the drive into any letter I want so that
I can transfer the information of the other two drive onto it. Then I can go
back and change the partitions letter back to "E,F,G". Can thisbe done safely
without problem?

Thank you for your help

Depends which is your o/s drive
I think I would use a utility such as Trueimage to clone E,F&G

Start-Settings-Control panel-Administrative tools-Computer management-disk
management. In disk management you can right click on the original partition
drive letters (you will see several lines of text , choose change drive
letter) and change them to something not used (usually x,y,z will work) now
right click on your new partitions and change them from whatever they are to
E, F , G. ...Aloha
