adding a new Win2k server

I have an win2k server , this is the DC , i want to add
a new server on my net same OS cause i need a vpn server,
I installed the win2k server in the new machine but when i
try to connect to the domain i can't and this message
appear "my_domain_name is not accesible the list of
servers for this workgroup is not currently available"

I will apreciate any help..

If this is a new install and you can verify that the server hardware is
compatible with win2k, then check the network, it looks like the server
cannot find the domain, check to see if you can ping a computer in the
domain, look at the ip info... see if you have to correct information.

Make sure the DNS settings of the server is correct, You should be available
to ping the full AD domain name by FQDN like ping company.com and got
response for the DC. if not point the DNS to the DC´s IP

yes, I can ping all computers in the domain also the
server , but I still not get into the domain, also
checked my hardware end all of them is compatible, any
other tip?

I did not mention this and I think is important ,
when I try to assign a domain in the Identification
Changes window from the system properties , a window
appears asking to me an user an pass for "enter the name
an account with permission to join the domain" then I
give an user and pass of an account, this account exists
in th DC server , then this message show up "the following
error occurred attempting to join the domain "my_domain"
the network path was not found"

Have you disabled NetBIOS at the client or the server?
