I just bought a new computer and I'm wanting to use a
hard drive from my old computer with it. The problem is
that the computer won't recognize the disk as usable
without repartitioning it. This envolves reformatting
it, which defeats the purpose. Any suggestions?

Right click My Computer, select Manage, Disk Management. Locate the drive
in question, right click and select Change Drive Letters and Paths to assign
a drive letter to it. This works for some users.
