When I go into the Add/Remove programs I get a window that
pops up and says:

An unexpected error occurred

Class no Registered

Any idea on what this is and how I can correct it?

From the "Run" box try

regsvr32 %windir%\system32\appwiz.cpl

and
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\webvw.dll

and
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\mshtml.dll

You might try to reinstall IE, the article above also tells you how to do that.

If this doesn't help, try to reinstall the OS service pack you already have
installed (or install a newer one if possible).
