add/remove programs button is missing

My add/remove programs button is missing from control panel & when I try to
make a shortcut I recieve an error message that appwiz.cpl is missing.
Please help

Hi

From the "Run" box try

regsvr32 %windir%\system32\appwiz.cpl

and
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\webvw.dll

and
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\mshtml.dll

You might try to reinstall IE, the article above also tells you how to do that.

If this doesn't help, try to reinstall the OS service pack you already have
installed (or install a newer one if possible).
