add/remove file

Hello
I wanted to remove a file from my add/rem file but it says unable to find it
and wont let me remove it , how do you remove it completly. I am told i can't
remove a file by just deleting from where i did and that i have to delete
from add/remove only. This is driving me nuts.
I only deleted it from the icon and all programs file from the start button.
Can i get your expertise help please. Thanks Tony

Are you talking about a PROGRAM? Files do not reside in Add/Remove programs.
It is usually best to first go to Add/Remove Programs to remove a program,
which will in turn remove all icons, etc relating to the programs.
You might have to reinstall the program then uninstall it the correct way.
