What you are unaware of, "Mr Unknown", is that "Mr Butts" is mentally ill,
so any of the usual pleas to reason are not going to be of any effect.

Although Mr Butts seems to be quite an intelligent man, he is also as nutty
as a fruitcake.

In short, you are wasting your breath.

I firmly believe that everyone deserves some respect, based on the fact that
they have survived, in this less than perfect world, for this long.

"Mr" is a simple mark of respect from one human being to another. You can
go on about "people who are not human" but that is quite obviously
incorrect - everybody is a human being and deserves a little respect.

That respect CAN be removed according to the persons actions toward another
who's respect for them is in question. However, Mr Butts has not attacked
ME significantly enough to warrant removal of this most basic of courtesies.

YW. Please note that each Malware Removal forum has there own set of
Preliminaries you must complete before posting any logs. Many of them do
not want a HJT log in your first post (e.g.,
http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?t=4075).

Also note that interpreting a HJT log or any other logs should only be done
by an experienced expert in such matters, and that a HJT log does NOT tell
us everything we need to know before starting the cleanup process.

PA Bear,

I tried Firefox and no searches were hijacked including Google. Also
some more work with startups and no more freezes. Machine is working
ok. For how long I don't know. I still want to run HJT so they can
use IE.

Thanks for the additional info on HJT.

"Running" HJT won't fix anything: It's just one of the many tools we use to
diagnose hijackware, etc., problems.

I know. When I get a chance to use it and if I have any questions
I'll start a new thread. You gave me the Forum address and
instructions.

The machine is ok now except for the IE search. They are using Fire
Fox search temporarily.

Thanks again to all for the good suggestions.
