CD burner program's disks not compatible

My new XP Notebook came with the Cyberlink Power CD/DVD burner
program. Works well. But the disks are not readable on my Win98SE PC
using the EZCD program. That also works well. The same thing with
CD's made with EZCD. they are not writeable on the Notebook. The
error messages say wrong format.

What bothers me is that the Cyberlink disks won't be useable on
other systems but the EZCD disks are.

Is there a good a good CD/DVD burner program that I can put on both
machines that will be universally readable and writeable. I was
hoping to be able to transfer files to other machines from each
machine.

I've searched the group and Google comes up with some free ones but
I'm wondering what the best answer is.

You must be using CD-RW disks with packet writing software. Those are
proprietary formats. Use CD-Rs or the regular CD-R style formatting
(with windows Explorer) on the CD-RWs. Check the Windows Help and
Support Center for instructions.

Thanks, The XP Help was a big help.

I'll try the CDR method too.

Any idea what the best burner program is that works with 98SE and
XP?

Thanks again.
