Yeah, you are :) I didn't even consider that my 2930CU wouldn't be
supported out-of-the-box, since it always has been in every prior
version of Windows as far as I can remember.

Just checked and Adaptec have a 2930UC VISTA BETA

Amusing -- they don't list an XP version!

My point was that, although Adaptec lists this driver for the 2930CU,
when you actually try to use it, Vista doesn't detect it as a valid
driver for the 2930CU because the INF file doesn't properly associate
with the 2930CU's hardware ID. You *can* use it if you make the changes
provided in my blog posting (original post).

They most likely don't list an XP version because the 2930CU driver was
included out-of-the-box for Windows XP.
