Ad-Aware SE - stalls

Hi all

I upgraded some time ago to AdAware SE (build 1.05) but continue to find it
stalls every time after scanning about 250 files. The only way I can get it
to run properly is in Safe Mode (useful if you do have a nastie of course)
whether I do a full scan or smart scan. Am I alone here - the old versions
all ran properly??

reply to group appreciated if anyone has any ideas.

Have you tried re-installing the application?

Where abouts is AdAware scanning when it stalls? What directory?

Maybe try a scandisk to see if there is an error in that general area of
the disk.

What AV program do you have? Is it running in the background? Althought
I've not seen AdAware conflict with any Antivirus programs before
perhaps there's a problem there - disable the resident protection of
your AV program and scan again. Disable anything else that is running too.

Problem solved - thanks to sh4d03. Did not have AV completely disabled when
running.
