File Description:

This is a reference file update for Ad-aware to detect and remove the
newest advertising systems.

Please close Ad-aware and/or Ad-watch before proceeding.


1) Use the "Save file to disk" option and choose your desktop as the
download location. 2) Open your Lavasoft Ad-aware 6 directory. By default
this is C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-aware 6. 3) Locate the reflist.zip
file on your desktop and open the archive 4) Drag and drop the reflist.ref
file from the zip archive directly into your Lavasoft Ad-aware 6 folder.
5) Select "yes" when asked if you want to replace the file 6) Close the
Ad-aware 6 directory window and restart Ad-aware and/or Ad-watch


Once the update has been applied, you can delete the reflist.zip file as
it is no longer needed.

OR- just use Ad-Aware's built-in update function - much easier than the
instructions below

That certainly doesn't work on mine (build 6.181).

My current Ref. file is 01R235 29.22.2003, and the "check for updates"
says there are none available.

Go figure.

Maybe the updating thing is confused by 29.22.2003 ?

I used Ad-Aware's built-in update function yesterday, and got the Dec 6
update.

It sure would have been

I used Ad-Aware's built-in update function yesterday, and got the
Dec 6 update.

I just gave it another try -- 17:35 GMT, 7 December -- and I still
get "No updated components available".

Does Lavasoft perhaps activate auto-updates sequentially for various
countries/regions, to reduce the load on their servers?

My auto update hasn't worked either since july last. Have to download and
replace the ref file manually each time it is released!!

While some people are able to get the update as soon as it's available I
can't usually get it straight off. It is usually a day or two before I
can download it. I do have 01R236 now.
