Ad-Aware 6.0 Build 181

AAH

It would appear that Lavasoft has removed the
Ad-Aware 6 181 setup file from their site after
release of current SE version.
Is their any other site to download this v.6.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Think that would be kinda useless since there would be no definition updates
available. I just installed the SE version on 3 systems here and it's
running fine on WinXP Pro and Home and on a Win98SE box.

At the moment, definition updates are still being made available for Ad-
Aware 6 build 181. The most recent is dated Oct. 26 2004.

I have noticed one minor bug in SE version 1.05. On a few
occassions while scanning, the text "Current Operation",
the number of objects scanned and current path has appeared
in the top left corner of the desktop instead of the adaware
window. A bit annoying, but it hasn't caused any problems.

I see your reference above to Ad- Aware 6 build 181 and the update 10/26/04.

My Ad-Aware is SE 1.03, last update SE 1R16.28.10.2004. Since AA may be going to
shareware, I went to the site to upgrade to ver. 6. I just downloaded the only
free "SE" from the Downloads.com mirror site. Started the install, see no
reference to the version, stopped the install.

Is there a link to ver. 6?

Version 6 is the old, soon-to-be-abandoned version. Ad-Aware SE Personal
v1.05 is the current free version. I am unaware of any plans to
discontinue the freeware version.

Thanks. BTW, the download early this AM has a EULA that says nothing about
freeware. And that was from the "free" link.

The file for v 6.0 build 181 is aaw6181.exe
and it can be downloaded from
http://www.msstudio.pl/cgi-bin/download.cgi?shareware/aaw6181.exe

Howeve as they say that there will be no update of reference file in future,
better to
move on to current SE 1.05 Version.
