ActiveX disabled in IE6

Cathy

A few weeks ago, my brother disabled ActiveX on my Windows XP IE6.
I want to re-enable it, but have been unable to do so. I tried
downloading and re-installing the newest ActiveX , and it says it was
successful, but still no activeX content in the browser. I checked
the advanced internet options to be sure all the "enable ActiveX"
boxes were checked, and they were, but I still cannot view activeX
content.

Can anyone PLEASE help me?

Thanks,
Cathy

For some clues look for your error message on this page.

Thanks for your reply. However, there ARE no error messages. It
simply acts as if ActiveX is not installed, and web pages with ActiveX
content display a message that "ActiveX 6 is required to view this
content. Download it here at..." etc. But I have tried (more than
once) to re-install it, but even though the software reports that the
installation was successful, web pages still tell me I don't have it
installed.
