Using WindowsXP Pro Sp2 on fiber optic which was installed July 2006.
In the beginning, when I connected to fiber optic, my internet access speed
in opening websites was almost
instantaneous but starting about four weeks ago my system is way slower than
dial
up. I have had two "experts" go through it - one spent four hours and one
spent two hours with no change in speed. One suggested that Active X might be
the problem. I am totally ignorant about what goes on internally but wonder
if Active X can be a problem. Both technicians searched for viruses but found
none. Both left as bewildered as I am. Internal programs all work at same
speed as always.
Outlook Express opens instantly and posts open quidkly but opening any links
in OE
take unbelievably long. I am totally frustrated.
