active directory recovery

Hello,

My customer has demote the domain controller without knows
the effect. But, they have a backup of the system state
data from that server. My question is, can we run dcpromo
again and then restore the previous system state data into
it ? Please advise .. Thanks

the server is a workgroup server. Just boot up in Directroy restore mode
and restore the system state. Then reboot. If you have reboot problems you
will need to do a in place repair. Make sure you have dns installed.
