Active Desktop

I was attempting to use web content on my desktop, I was
unable to see any of the web content and now my wallpaper
is only visible during shutdown or boot-up. Once the
machine has booted the wallpaper disappears. I suspected
this is an active desktop problem, so I opened gpedit.msc
and enabled Active Desktop, this didn't help...
Any suggestions?

Just to let anyone know who is interested, I pulled a
restore point and got my wallpaper back, then I went
through the process of adding web content to the desktop
agian and it went well this time... I don't know what
caused the problem first time around but it seems to be
working this time.
