Active Content Blocked- get rid of it?

When clicking on "Check new mail" in Trillian ( a program for chatting),
which then redirects to Yahoo mail, I get the "Active Content Blocked" crap
in the Information Bar. I have looked at the security settings numerous times
and cannot figure out how to let Trillian launch the Yahoo mail page to check
for mail.

Someone please help! I hate this feature that came with SP2. If I want
protection, I'll do it myself! I don't need IE doing it for me. I have even
tried setting the security settings to custom-> low and it still gives me
this pop-up. I want to get rid of it! Please tell me how!

I might add that I read through this list with a search done on active
content and have seen about SP2 RC2 having a setting that will allow this to
run. I cannot, however, get the Windows Update page to let me have SP2 RC2?
My COmputer says I am running SP2 Version 2002.

If any of you people on here talk to MS and tell then about issues, make
this one TOP PRIORITY. We do not want MS to inhibit our computer usage- we
should have had an option to install this dreaded info bar or not.

You can put the Yahoo mail page in as a trusted zone, which will allow your
active content.

To do that, click on the menu item Tools, then select Internet Options.
Under Internet options, click on the Trusted Sites icon (green circle
w/checkmark). The button below that say's sites will become active. click on
the sites button.

In the sites dialog box, first uncheck the "Require server verification..."
check box. This will allow you to enter generic web sites. Then, in the text
box at the top, type in *.yahoo.com (or whatever domain you want trusted),
and click add.

You can add as many sites as you want, but just be sure you really trust
them.

When you're done, click OK and OK. If you are on the page you want to
access, click on the Refresh button and you should see the active content.

Hope this helps

Jay,

Trillian launches a web page that is stored in the My Documents folder on
the local computer. It does not point to a web address, because when you
click on it references a html file in C:/Documents & Settings.

I have looked at the webpage http://www.winxptutor.com/lmzunlock.htm and I
do not have those registry entries or do I have the Security section in
Internet Options->Security. I do not have an advanced tab or button: I can
just choose Custom Settings.

Try looking in internet options..advanced tab and scroll down to security
and check allow active content to run in my computer.
