Hi, After loading software for my scanner and restarting,
Windows won't fully start. I recieve the following error
message:

"A problem has prevented Windows from accurately checking
the status of the license for this computer. To proceed
your copy of windows must be activated with Microsoft. Do
you want to continue?"

Then I click yes, the wallpaper loads, then about 10
minutes later it tries to signoff user.

If you can help, please respond by e-mail.
Thank you, Rick

Possible Resolution:

Go to Start > Run and type: regsvr32 regwizc.dll , and hit enter.
Then go again to Start > Run and type: regsvr32 licdll.dll , and hit enter again.

Apparently, and I can't say how, the above files became unregistered.

I had a similar experience with my desktop computer while
trying to troubleshoot a problem with my NIC. After
attempting to reinstall Windows I started receiving this
message and the computer will not allow me to log on
without activation (which I'm assuming it needs the NIC to
do). There were no changes made to the system that should
have required re-activation, but now it won't allow me to
login. Ay suggestions?

The real cause is MS's greed and their inability to develop anything but
buggy code! As if there weren't enough things that could go wrong with
their software, MS had to go out and develop something that is of absolutely
no use to the End User that really can screw up people's computer systems.

Put the blame where it belongs! Without PA, there would be no license check
to screw up people's computer system to begin with!

How long are all you people gonna let MS get away with this, and back up MS
screwing their customers with PA! Speak out!
