ACPI and AMD processors on VIA chipsets

Any game I try and play crashes to the desktop after about
10 minutes of play. I have narrowed the problem down to
the ACPI features in Windows 2000 Pro, but I do not know
how to fix them. Here are my specs:

AMD Athlon 1.4GHz
256MB PC2100
Win 2K Pro
eVGA GForce 4 MX440
Soundblaster Live 5.1

All drivers and BIOS are up to date. All service pack and
hotfixes applied to Win 2K.

Thanks!

solution but if you find something, if you could let me
know that would be awesome. I'll let you know if i find
anything. Thanks.

Makes me think its a heat issue if you can play for 10 minutes. Might want
to rule that out first.
