Wow, this is -tiny-. Very nice.

Any chance of toggle-able persistent selection and block select modes? Two
of the most important features, to me, when text editing.

Steve:
It opens a 2.3 MB file quick.

I set a larger font for my eyes, the file font did not change, so I
closed Notes. It froze, used Task Manager, opened it again, the same
large file, same default font.

I then tried a small file, changed font, exited, opened same file, same
default font.

So the font setting does not persist. I can't test further as I need the
larger font.

It's early days, I know.

Mike, I've fixed the bug concerning the font size/color (partially). It is
still a bit temporamental, but works better than it did before, and has a
new default font size (or rather, the same font size, just actually works
this time).

If you have any problems with the font's, you can change them in the .ini
file (in the programs path). Note however, you'll need to re-start the
program if doing that way.

Hi Steve,
for your testing maybe this can be interesting: I run ACF Notes, opened a
little text file, changed the font, closed ACF Notes, saw that the newly
created .ini file had correctly registered the font change
(FName=@Arial Unicode MS FSize=12)
Then, when I tried to run again ACF Notes I had this error message box:
---------------------------
ACF Notes
---------------------------
Errore di run-time '380':

Invalid property value
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

Maybe is it a localization fault?
I think so because I've seen in the .ini file these rows:
FBold=Falso
FItalic=Falso
FStrikeThru=Falso
FUnderline=Falso

That actually is a localization error. Unfortunately, I've not been able to
check for those yet. I'll work on allowing for it in a future version (I'm
hoping to get away from localization alltogether and use a more generic way
of doing it).

errr..... 29KB is under 1MB...... it's only OVER 1MB if you need the
dependancies (which 99% of people already have).

I should mention it's Babya software I'm criticizing, not ACF Notes; I've
already expressed my support for the latter, highly promising, application.

Steve:
I just checked the ini file, the changes I put in are there, New Courier
and 11 point.

But I open a file, and the font is still your default, about 8 point.

Advice?

Also, another later addin if not there already:

save changes on exit automatically, better is also save every X minutes.

I finally dumped the AAFussy entity in the bozo-bin. But going from memory
of his posts, I recall wondering over his potential for another line of
work...how do you call it, those people who work for polititians, doing
PR campaigns and such...where the entire objective is to pile out elaborate
sandcastles of cow patties. Any chance he has a future there?

In a press conference held yesterday, AA Fussy of Babya Software
announced the acquisition of ACF Notes. The ACF application is
said to provide essential basic text editing functions centered
upon the user's immediate needs. The program is trim and compact,
so it offers its functions with very frugal usage of system
resources.

The program has not been without controversy, however.
Immediately upon being told of the Babya press conference,
programmer Steven Burn, who wrote the program, said: "Hey, wait a
minute! He never even asked me. It isn't even ready yet. I never
offered to sell it. How can he do this?"

Further developments are expected.

Indeed, he most certainly is persistent and would excel as a professional
pain-in-the-ass-for-hire.
