Program: ACF Notes
Version: 1.1.2 beta
Licence: Freeware
Homepage: http://support.it-mate.co.uk/?mode=Products&p=acfnotes
Download:

Description:

ACF (alt.comp.freeware) Notes is a small and simple plain text editor,
developed at the request of an alt.comp.freeware newsgroup subscriber.

Updates:

Fixed: Line number column resize bug
Fixed: Check color bug in Find/replace dialog
Fixed: Path/File access error when dragging file onto ACF Notes icon
Fixed: Other minor bug fixes

Added: Multi-document support (see notes)
Added: Clear backups option
Added: Close/Close All menu options
Added: Extra Date/Time menu options

Modified: Help menu actions
Modified: File open routine
Modified: Other minor modifications

Notes:

This release is available as a no-install package only. Those who either do
not have ACF Notes 1.1.1 or earlier installed, or do not have the required
file's, may experience problems when trying to run it.

Additionally, the new multi-document support is _experimental only_ and will
only be staying in the program if it proves advantageous.

Due to both a lack of spare time, and to be frank, lack of enthusiasm, ACF
Notes still does not have a help file (though to be honest, one should not
be necessary as it's only a simple text editor anyway).

I'd dditionally very much appreciate feedback (comments, suggestions,
criticisms, are all welcome) from anyone that tries the new beta release.

How are you closing the program? (i.e. via the X, File > Exit etc?)

Via the 'X'. Most programs I've used won't prompt to save unless the
document has changed.
It no trouble though, to just use F8 to save and exit.

Like the file tree.

I'll stick an option in to turn the prompts off, and work on modifying it so
when it does prompt, it only does so if the document has changed )

You are showing your age Susan. Here is the "correct" text.

I've started measuring my out-of-dateness in decades rather than years.
OTOH what goes around comes around. . . pedal pushers are back. . .

I would love to try this program; unfortunately, I cannot get to this
page with either Firefox or IE.

I'm not quite sure what would be preventing you accessing the site as I'm
able to access it in IE without any problems (I wrote the site in
ASP/VBScript though so you may want to check to make sure scripting and/or
cookies are enabled (neither should be needed normally, but it's the only
thing I can think of). However, I've put the DD URL below for you if that
helps?.

I can't connect with everything enabled. Oh well. No problem with
other sites...only this one.

I'm not quite sure what to suggest to be honest as I can't think of any
reason for your not being able to access it \

Can you access any of my other site's?, for example
http://freeware.it-mate.co.uk (basically trying to figure out if it's just
the one site your having the problem with, or all of the site's on my
domain).

Additionally, do you get any error messages etc?
