Description:

ACF (alt.comp.freeware) Notes is a small and simple plain text editor,
developed at the request of an alt.comp.freeware newsgroup subscriber

Updates:

Fixed: Minor bug fixes concerning the settings
Added: MRU (recent file menu)

Notes:

I know I said last time that I'd not be adding any new features to ACF
Notes, but after thinking about it, decided I couldn't leave it the way it
was, so added the MRU (also allows you to "clear" it via the Tools menu). I
am also planning on adding the tab's, as previously requested by Tiger....?,
but can't say when this will be as it's looking like I'm going to have to
completely re-write the application from scratch to do it.

Continues to Exit with Alt-F4 and no prompt to save. Whatever
other options to Exit the program, this one is too dangerous to use
the program without the danger of data loss.

I did used to have the prompt in earlier versions but was asked to remove it
as it was annoying people, so added a "Save and Exit" menu item inplace of
the prompt. If you like, I will re-add the prompt in the next update.....?

Sounds like a big job. Don't do it solely on my account. I'd say
leave it like it is unless there is a desire for tabs from at least
several others...or unless it's just something *you* want to do.

"You can please some of the people some of the time!"

If a file is modified then the application should prompt the user to save
before terminating.

It seems to me that it should not be possible to exit any word
processor without either saving the work, or being prompted to
save. The menu options do that, but Alt-F4 may have been
overlooked in the coding? A fix would take the program off the
dangerous to use category.

Best of luck winding up this project, you certainly seem to have
made every effort to accomodate the wishes of a lot of people for a
small quick editor.

I've uploaded the modified version (same version number). I've coded it to
catch ALT+F4 and automatically prompt you to save.

Thanks .. look forward to testing it.

Perhaps you should produce fewer updates, and do a little more testing
yourself.

Steve
Uncalled for Steve - the man had a good app and people have asked him
repeatedly to make changes as he brought out a new version. I think an
apology is in order as your namesake is not doing all this for himself
but the readers of this ng.
