Acess 97 won't open

I recently loaded Office 97 Pro on a new PC with Windows XP Pro with service
pack 2 on it. Everything works fine except Access won’t open. When I try, I
get a message box that says “Out of Memoryâ€. When I click OK another message
comes up that says “Microsoft Access A system error occurred, or there
isn’t enough free memory to stare Microsoft Access. Close any unneeded
programs and try again. I am pretty sure it isn’t a memory problem ( the PC
has 1 gig of ram). Does Access 97 have any issues with Service pack 2 for XP
Pro? I have uninstalled & reinstalled Office several times.

Hi Mike,

Would you believe the problem is that you have TOO much RAM?!

Access 97 will not run on a computer with 1 GB or more of RAM UNLESS you install the latest JET
service pack.

See this article for all the necessary information:

ACC: "Out of Memory" Error Starting Microsoft Access

Hope that solves the problem,
