Install access 97 on xp - isn't enough memory error

I keep getting the error.. there isn't enough free memory to start
microsoft access.

I have office 97. Tried uninstalling access 97.. reinstalling access 97..
installing office 97 service pack 2 sr-2b...

then installing microsoft jet 3.5 service pack 3...

I'm still getting the error message.

This is a new dell 5150 xp.. I uininstalled office 2003 that was preloaded
w/ no license.

any suggestions appreciated.

ps. interesting this error is supposed to occur when theres 1gb of ram or
more installed.. but I have just 512mb

Also, after doing a bit of reading in various posting I have a question for
you... have you applied all the update to your office installation?

Appreciate the help.

I tried what was suggested at...

I clicked ok at the end step w/ C:\WINDOWS\system32\regsvr32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache\dao360.dll in the run.. open box. It said
whatever I did was successfull, and created c:\windows\prefetch, but still
not able to loaad access.

I updated to office 97 SR-2b, and jet35sp3.exe
