I wanna go back to DOS

I have Access 97 Upgrade, never needed to upgrade to anything newer. Now
I've moved on up to Win XP and I wanted to install Access 97.

I tried installing Access and was told that it couldn't find my "qualifying
product." So I dug out Office 97 and installed that. Tried again. No joy.
Access still won't install.

Never had this problem with Win Me.

Any suggestions?

Office 97 would not be a qualifying product for an Access 97 upgrade.
Qualifying products would be some earlier versions of Access.

I never had an earlier version of Access. At one time I had Lotus Approach,
maybe that counted. However, I didn't have Approach on my computer for a
long time but I had re-installed Access numerous times.

Is there a work aroung so I can get Access 97 up and running again?

Erm, well, there is a fairly well-known way of getting an Office 97 Pro
Upgrade to install from scratch without a qualifying product, but I'm not
gonna post it 'cos I don't want Microsoft sending PC Plod to my house. Some
Googling may reveal it to you, but I don't know if it will work with an just
Access 97 upgrade as opposed to Office 97 Pro.

Your best bet may be eBay, you could probably pick up one of the qualifying
products for next to nothing. There's a list here:
