Acer Aspire Wireless Problems

A family member has bought an Acer Aspire A0751 and is finding the wireless
connection very flaky.
The wireless adaptor is an Atheros AR5007EG and the driver number is
7.6.1.221. I have tried to update the driver, has come difficulty finding a
valid download and when installed found the wireless adaptor disappeared
from device manager and became an unknown device. I used system restore to
put things back as before.
We have a number of Dell laptops and none have any problems.
Can anyone offer any advice on how to fix this?

I have one and have not had any problems. I would check with Acer. It
could be that the antenna is not working correctly.

You obtain drivers for laptops from your laptop manu.site and not MSUpdate
or elsewhere
