Acer Aspire G600p USB Ports Not Working

I have an acer g600p on MS XP sp1 of which some of the usb ports are
not working.
i have checked in windows to make sure that all of the ports are
enabled and still some of them dont work

I think its the driver that has gone wrong but i cant be 100% sure as
some of the ports still work. I know that one of the now dead ports did
work before.

Is a driver reinstallation going to fix this problem?
