Accessing webpages

Cannot access any webpage that requires me to log on...ie; my bank page,
utility websights, credit card websights....i get the msg "this page cannot
be displayed" had to delete all system restore files to rid my machine of
viruses so cannot do a system restore...would appreciate any help...thanks
in advance...Ronald (Gene) Foltz
 
Do you have any applications that might be blocking cookies, popups or ads
as any such blocking might also prevent access to these sites. If you
disable any such software, be sure to empty the IE cache before attempting
to return to these sites. Open Internet Explorer, go to Tools, select
Internet Options, click Delete Cookies, Delete Files (Accept the option to
delete all offline files) and click Clear History and try again.

If that fails to resolve it, open Internet Options as outlined above, go to
the Advanced Tab, remove the check from "Enable third party browser
extensions," click apply and ok, reboot the system, clear the cache again
and again try the sites with which you are having problems.

I've had the same problem for a while and found that this solution worked for me. I was running windows 98 and my cipher strength said 0-bit..
